My journey into chiropractic began when I was in my late teens when I started to experience low back pain after going skiing. The back pain continued on and off for years and when aggravated could leave me bed ridden for weeks at a time. I was crooked when standing or walking. I felt something was out of place and went to see an orthopedic physician who was treating me for a knee injury. I was told I had some degeneration of the lumbar spine and was shown how to do exercises and advised to take Tylenol as needed for pain relief. I diligently did my exercises and continued to experience low back pain for the next several years.

A friend of mine was under the care of a chiropractor for many years as a wellness patient and suggested i make an appointment which I did as a last resort. After an initial exam it was determined my sacrum was rotated and was given a chiropractic adjustment that changed my life. I immediately felt and heard a clunking in my low back and felt something had shifted back into place. I was standing and walking without pain. I was so impressed and amazed that I could feel so much better after just one treatment for something that had plagued me for years. This experience gave me the impetus to pursue chiropractic as a career.

Along with being a chiropractor I have also trained in the martial arts for almost three decades which has given me a greater appreciation of how the human body functions in terms of form and function. There are common concepts that are inherent in both chiropractic and the martial arts, such as good form leads to optimal function and a shared belief that there is an innate energy that flows through our bodies. In my experience the goal is to maximize the flow of energy and to minimize the interference so that we may achieve optimal results.

I graduated from Magna Cum Laude from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, Ca in 2000. Since graduating I have worked for other chiropractic clinics in San Diego managing and treating work, personal injuries and wellness patients.

I was born and raised in Evanston and have come back home to start my own practice and to be closer to family.
